Smart Production

 

This is a process whereby the card layout and card/application version control is managed within the UbiQDataPrep™ application rather than on the personalization equipment on the production floor. The SmartProduction process and methodology migrates the smart card version control to the Product Management or Development groups within the banks and away from the manufacturing floor. This leads to a more automated process on the production floor which reduces the possibilities for operator errors. Using a UbiQIntelligent file format,UbiQDataPrep™, in conjunction with the UbiQCardIssue™ application, provides the ability to add new card and application types without having to load new applications or software on the personalization equipment. This eliminates the need to update the personalization equipment to support each card and application type. This process supports the ability to issue cards on multiple hardware platforms e.g. NBS, DataCard, CIM, Matica. This automated approach reduces the need for manual operator intervention during the job setup on the personalization equipment, reducing the potential chance of errors.
